The Sweet Taste of Success at Srifa Bakery

Srifa Bakery produces quality Thai desserts to both local and international markets.

Its best overseas seller is Thong Muan (coconut wafer rolls) under the Suthera Brand.

Despite the pandemic, Srifa Bakery is continuing to invest in the latest technology.

For more than 30 years Srifa Bakery has produced baked products and Thai desserts for both local and international markets. The company focuses on using quality ingredients as well as technology and R&D to develop new products to serve changing customer demands.

“During the past two years, we have sought new products to serve Thai consumers who want to travel overseas, especially to Japan, but cannot due to current circumstances. So, we have cooperated with a Japanese company to bake a cheesecake for Thai consumers who miss the taste of Japan,” Memynkorn Akaratechasakul, Director of Sales and Marketing at Srifa Frozen Food, says.

In Thailand, Srifa Bakery produces various baked and frozen products under the Srifa brand, as well as OEM for other companies. Its major distribution channels are Srifa bakery shops and convenience stores across the country. It plans to extend the Srifa Bakery Shop franchise, which currently stands at eight branches.

Overseas, the company has exported Thong Muan (coconut wafer rolls) under the Suthera Brand to Australia, China, Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, South Korea, Japan, Singapore and the US.

The Suthera coconut wafer roll recipe has received the Superior Taste Award Certification from the International Taste Institute of Belgium guaranteed by Michelin star chefs for two consecutive years in 2020 and 2021.

There are more than a dozen Thong Muan flavours. Honey cinnamon coconut wafer roll and coconut wafer sheets are the latest products to be exported, with the company planning to penetrate new markets, such as the Middle East which favours coconut products.

Srifa regularly joins the Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP)’s activities to explore opportunities at overseas trade promotion events. Besides offline channels, the firm has also cooperated with leading e-marketplaces to access the Chinese market.

Amidst the pandemic, the firm is trying to maintain its sales while taking care of its 700 employees, mainly at its plant in Kanchanaburi Province, whilst invest in the necessary technology. Recently, it imported an ultrasonic cutting machine to develop its cake production line.
