Thailand Strengthens Trade Relations with Hong Kong

The Ministry of Commerce, through the auspices of the DITP, welcomed the Chief Executive of Hong Kong, Carrie Lam and other delegates, on an official visit to Thailand from February 27 to 28.

“We discussed strengthening our cooperation on trade, investment and other economic issues,” DITP Director-General, Banjongjitt Angsusingh, said. “Thailand can use Hong Kong as the gateway to distribute products to the Chinese market, maximising the benefits from the ASEAN-Hong Kong Free Trade Agreement, as well as the Greater Bay Area.”

DITP also organised the Thailand-Hong Kong Strategic Partnership on February 28 at Centara Grand Hotel Ladprao in Bangkok. At the event, three MoUs on start-up development and smart city establishment, as well as separate ones on investment information sharing were signed between Thailand and Hong Kong.
