Thailand exports recorded a total value of 750 billion baht (US$ 24 billion) in March 2021, a growth of 8.47% compared with a year earlier. This is the fastest growth rate in 28 months, driven by higher shipments of cars and car parts, rubber products, and plastic pellets.
Demand from key markets increased in March, with exports to the US climbing 7.2% year-on-year, to China up by 35.4% and to Japan by 4.6%
In the first quarter of this year, exports increased by 2.27% compared with a year earlier.
The Minister of Commerce has targeted export growth of 4% over the year. Exports declined 6% last year.
