The Asian-American consumer market has been growing rapidly in recent years. A recent report by the Pew Research Center showed that the purchasing power of Asian-American consumers currently is valued at US$17.8 trillion, an increase of nearly 100% compared with 1999, and is expected to grow further.
According to a press release dated May 8, the DITP’s Overseas Office in Chicago has encouraged Thai entrepreneurs to penetrate this potential market by supplying food products such as Thailand’s fragrant Hom Mali rice, fish sauce, ready-to-eat noodles, and other products targeting Asian-American consumers.
