The DITP will host business matching activities to support Thai businesses to explore business opportunities in the Maldives next year.
The activities will include taking Thai trade delegates from food and industry sectors to the Maldives, and inviting importers from Maldives to participate in construction material business negotiations in Thailand, or other international trade fairs hosted by the DITP.
In early 2021, the DITP will host business matching events for Maldivian importers, and Thai manufacturers and exporters within the hospitality, food and other consumer good sectors.
According to a report from the DITP’s overseas office in Chennai, India, Maldives will reduce tariffs by up to 50% on imported products including metal sheets, plates, metal bars, ceramic products and utensils. This measure will benefit Thai exporters who want to expand their market into the Maldives.
