The DITP will host a Top Thai Brands 2021 trade fair in Sri Lanka in March 2021 to boost Thai exports to the island nation.
“Sri Lanka is one of our target markets in the South Asian region,” said DITP Director-General, Somdet Susomboon. “We have organised many activities to promote Thai products and services in this market such as the Top Thai Brands fair, which was hosted for the first time in Sri Lanka from March 6 to 8, 2020.
Susomboon also advised Thai producers to comply with new regulations on packaging stipulated by the Consumer Affairs Authority of Sri Lanka. From March 1, 2021, packaging must carry information on maximum retail price, batch number, manufacturing date, expiry date, product weight, and country of origin in Tamil, Sinhala and English languages.
This regulation will apply to 76 products including tea, coffee, herbal products, herbal medicine, meat and fish products, and products for children.
