Slow Hand Design Exhibition Huge Success at Milan Design Week

Organised by the DITP, The Slow Hand Design Exhibition 2023 proved a huge success at the Milan Design Week 2023. Held at Superstudio Più in the Italian city from April 18 to 23, the exhibition featured 33 Thai designers and entrepreneurs selected by the DITP to showcase their work. Based on the theme ‘Not A Virgin – Materials through Thailand’s Innovative Design that Sustain the Global Environment’, the event aimed to promote Thai furniture and lifestyle products in the global market through innovative and sustainable design concepts.

At the opening ceremony on April 19, 2023, Phusit Ratanakul Sereroengrit, Director-General of the DITP, delivered an opening remark, emphasising the importance of sustainable design concepts in today’s global market. Also in attendance were Gisela Borioli, the founder of Superstudio Più, and other distinguished guests.

Over the six-day event, the exhibition drew an impressive 8,025 visitors from across Italy and beyond. Trade representatives, designers, importers, students and the general public were all captivated by the stunning array of furniture and lifestyle products on display, all crafted with exquisite attention to detail and a keen eye on sustainability. The exhibition also attracted much interest in companies who wished to display Thai products at other exhibitions or for personal use, as well as partnering in trade. This shows the great potential for future growth and trade opportunities with Italy.
