DITP-Led TOPTHAI Boosts SME Sales to $17.4 Million
The TOPTHAI programme, led by the Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), has achieved remarkable success in boosting sales for Thai SMEs on global e-commerce platforms. With over 1,000 SMEs expanding their online presence, the programme has generated sales exceeding $17.4 million. TOPTHAI has recently expanded its product offerings to include future food and design categories. It is also planning to extend its reach to new platforms, catering to the demands of both existing and new customers.
Under the guidance of Phusit Ratanakul Sereroengrit, DITP Director-General, TOPTHAI was launched to support SMEs and facilitate their entry into international markets through established e-commerce partnerships. Collaborations with renowned platforms, such as Amazon, Tmall and Bigbasket have seen the active participation of over 2,000 Thai brands, resulting in the impressive sales figure.
Each TOPTHAI store strategically targets customer preferences using specific platforms, ie: Amazon for food, health and beauty; Tmall for F&B; Bigbasket for F&B; Shopee and Blibli for health, beauty and fashion; and PChome for Thai design fashion and lifestyle. These diverse product categories ensure tailored offerings and personalised experiences.
Looking ahead, the DITP plans to expand the TOPTHAI programme to other potential markets, particularly in the Middle East, Asia and Europe. Collaborations with platforms, such as eBay, Lazada, Tmall Global and PINKOI are underway, providing a valuable addition to the already extensive platform portfolio. The DITP will continue to promote TOPTHAI to entrepreneurs through events, including the Cross Border e-Commerce campaign, and international trade exhibitions.
