Thailand Strengthens Trade Relations with Iceland

The Ministry of Commerce hosted the Top Thai Products Networking@Iceland event at Fosshotel Reyjjavik on June 19.

At the event, Thai trade delegates led by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce, Jurin Laksanawisit held a meeting and discussion with seven key importers from Iceland, representatives of Iceland’s businesswomen’s group and Thai business owners in Iceland.

The DITP will organise online business matching activities between Thai producers and Icelandic importers to boost exports into Iceland as well as hosting sales promotion activities in department stores and supermarkets in Iceland, and inviting Icelandic importers to attend THAIFEX-Anuga Asia 2023. Moreover, Thailand is looking to speed up the FTA negotiation between Thailand and AFTA countries.

The Minister of Commerce expects trade between the two countries to grow by at least 10% this year.
