The DITP’s overseas office in Pretoria, South Africa hosted an online business activity for Thai and South African businesses on June 15.
Four major importers from Mozambique, Mauritius and South Africa attended the event. Jumbo Hyper Market placed an order for US$5 million, while Wemaco, the owner of Kokoro Supermarket in South Africa, purchased US$50,000 worth of food products from Thailand.
Moreover, other five importers from the abovementioned countries placed orders for Thailand’s rice and rice products worth a total of at least US$26 million.
