The demand for food and beverages through online channels in the US is increasing leading to an opportunity for Thai exporters to penetrate the market, according to a press release on July 21.
Data from the DITP’s office overseas in Chicago showed that Covid-19 has driven American consumers to online shopping and delivery service. Thai businesses should consider creating brand awareness, as well as promoting and distributing Thai food and beverage products through online channels. They should also use social media platforms and influencers to promote products.
In 2021, total online sales of food and beverages in the US stood at $19.89 billion. Sales are expected to double to $39 billion by 2023. The top five online food and beverage distributors are Kroger.com, amazon.com, Walmart.com, Costco.com, and samsclub.com, respectively.
