DITP Australia Urges Thai Businesses to Go Green

Despite the Covid-19 pandemic, the demand for organic food and products has increased significantly in Australia, especially for baby and children’s food, snacks and ready-to-eat meals under OEM brands, according to a press released on August 6.

Data from DITP’s office overseas in Australia showed that more than 56% of Australians bought organic products last year, especially in the household sector. Organic consumers are concerned about price, value and quality, so many of them opt to buy organic products from supermarkets, such as Woolworths, Coles and Aldi.

Australia Organic Market Report 2021 forecasts the organic market in Australia will grow by an average of 15% per year until 2024.

Thai businesses should consider exporting organic products under their own brand or supplying raw materials as OEM for supermarkets in Australia.
